After a short and unsuccessful struggle against cancer, Hendersons grand father Robert Moir passed away. He is Brittany and Brooke mother Darlene Henderson’s father. He was 81 and his family declared Mr Moir passing at the Ottawa General Hospital on Friday, June 1st 2018.
That time Brooke henderson was at 73rd U.S. Women’s Open, held at Shoal Creek Club in Shoal Creek, Alabama. She withdraw from the open and left for Ottawa with his father Dave – also her coach and her sister Brittany who is her caddie.
In their obituary message Brittany and Brooke mentioned their grandfather “he bond that we shared with our Gramps was truly special. Between the golf courses, hockey rinks, our love of nature, just hanging out at home or our texts from afar, we shared so many great laughs, smiles and memories that will be deep in our hearts forever. We will miss him very much as he will also be missed by so many friends and family.”
Further they remembered and mention their uncle Kenneth Moir who passed away 2009, ” Peace and happiness is found knowing he is welcomed Home by Our Father through the gates of heaven where Uncle Kenny will greet him with a big hug. You are forever loved.”
Mr Moir is survived with his sister Elinor Commodore.
Brooke was tied for 44th after a shooting a 1-over-par 73 in the first round on May 31st and was six shots back of the lead. Henderson was looking to register her second major title but unfortunately forced to withdraw and she is looking forward to competing again at the U.S. Women’s Open in 2019 at The Country Club of Charleston.
